Penelope’s debut on Broadway
2017 was full of adventures! Here are some of the highlights.
Rooming with Shelly Prosko at IPPS
OK, it wasn’t necessarily that we roomed together at International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS) conference that was the highlight, but the fact that I finally got to meet fellow pelvic health physiotherapist and yogi Shelly Prosko in person.
We’ve communicated over email for years before this first in-person meeting. Shelly taught a fabulous morning yoga session and I had the honor of filming a “WOW Chat” for her with world renowned pain researcher Lorimer Moseley.
Retreat to Your Root
Casie Danenhauer and I had two fantastic pelvic health retreats! Retreat To Your Root was held on the west coast at Sagrada and an east coast debut at Spirit Fire.
We were blessed with two wonderful groups of women who connected, shared, and created a beautiful healing environment.
Teaching
Teaching was a big part of my year as well. I had the honor of teaching four sections of Pelvic Floor Level One (Herman & Wallace) to men and women across the United States.
I traveled to Seattle and NJ to teach my course for rehab professionals, Yoga for Pelvic Pain.
In Boston, I returned to Simmons College and Bay State College, introducing upcoming therapists to the treatment methodologies of pelvic floor dysfunction.
In NYC, I was thrilled to be in the studio with the creatively brilliant voice teacher Andrew Byrne, where we experimented with different pelvic floor cues and the effect on the singing voice during his course “The Singing Athlete.”
Creating more yoga videos
Finally, you might have heard that I created four new yoga videos! Abbie, Brandon, and I had just as much fun off screen as we did on screen.
A giant thank you to Melissa and Tom of Long Haul Films for such a beautiful filming experience. I look forward to our next project!
Looking ahead
My goals for 2018 include:
- Continuing to make healthy eating, meditation, and exercise a priority so I can live my best life and inspire others to do the same.
- Continuing to celebrate beauty in every day life. I love catching moments of urban beauty on my commute to work.
- Continuing to create new content for my current and future blog readers and customers 🙂
