Description

Learn how to decrease pain and symptoms related to interstitial cystitis as Dustienne invites you to use breath and gentle yoga postures to lengthen the tissue surrounding the bladder and soften the pelvic floor muscles.

Each clearly-demonstrated movement is designed to guide you safely through a home yoga routine, created specifically to support treatment and management of interstitial cystitis.

This easy-to-follow, stress-relieving home practice serves as a holistic complement to traditional clinical approaches. This tailored program contains two sections:

Asana (15 minutes)

Asana incorporates gentle and slow movements combined with conscious breathing.

The design of this flow

  • calms the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight response),
  • lengthens and strengthens pelvic floor muscles, and
  • promotes myofascial release.

Relaxation (10 minutes)

Relaxation allows you to experience the physical letting go of the muscles relaxing. You will feel the physiological quieting, allowing your body, mind, and spirit to integrate the changes that occurred during practice.

Practice breath work, mindfulness and body awareness techniques that reduce stress that often accompanies interstitial cystitis. When you manage the stress, you are able to increase function. By integrating these flows into your overall pelvic health strategy, you implement another strategy for self-healing and increase the potential to live your healthiest, happiest life.

I did Dustienne’s Yoga for Interstitial Cystitis video last night for the first time and wrote an email to thank Dustienne this morning.

I have had IC for 7 years and have tried every supplement and pharmaceutical on the market. I’ve been flaring for over 3 months, and at this point I’m unable to exercise, I eat a highly restricted diet (removed all inflammatory foods plus foods I have tested sensitive to), traveling is impossible, the list goes on. We all know quality of life is a quandary with IC.

However, doing Dustienne’s yoga routine gave me the greatest relief I have experienced in months, and my pelvic floor felt more relaxed than it has since prior to my diagnosis. I have not found a local yoga studio that offers pelvic floor specific yoga classes, let alone for I.C., and beyond grateful to now have it on demand in my living room.

Dustienne’s approach is gentle and strategic. I was able to relax my belly and get a peaceful night of sleep – what a gift. Five stars, THANK YOU Dustienne!

    Hi Dustienne,
So now it’s been almost two months of using the video twice a week, along with my regular yoga practice, and I do find it super helpful. Wow. My bladder pain has lessened and I feel a new feeling of relaxation and awareness in my pelvic floor. I’m very grateful and impressed with how you designed this practice and, the icing on the cake,I enjoy it!
I just posted about your video on the Facebook page for the Interstitial Cystitis Network. I would encourage you to see if you could get listed on their website.

Much gratitude and blessings on your work,
    Tina

I have been using the video for Interstitial Cystitis for 2 weeks every other day as part of my rehabilitation for high tone pelvic floor dysfunction in tandem with physical therapy (the physical therapist recommended this video) and my pain and spasms are greatly relieved. I feel more relaxed and centered. Thank you for sharing your expertise with all of us!

    • Dustienne Miller

Thank you so much for your feedback Tracy! I am over the moon! Please thank your physical therapist for referring and continue to feel better!

As a recently diagnosed interstitial cystitis patient, I have been using this video every morning for the past three weeks to relax my pelvic floor muscles. My primary symptom at this point is urgency, as in feeling like I have to urinate when I know that I don’t. While doing the video, this symptom goes away. The guided breathing throughout the video is especially helpful as I wouldn’t focus on the breathing so much if Dustienne didn’t guide the patient through the breathing for each stretch. During the last segment of the video, in which the patient is guided through breathing while lying flat on the floor, I am able to relax so much that I almost feel like I am floating. Dealing with interstitial cystitis caused by hypertonic pelvic floor muscles can be a slow process of healing, but using this video has given me more control over my healing process, and has definitely helped to reduce my symptoms. I plan to continue doing this video every day for the foreseeable future.

Hooray! I am so happy to hear this! The urgency symptom is maddening. I’m happy to hear that it diminishes while duoing the video. I’m also so happy to hear that you are able to fully embrace the slow pace of this video and that it has served you so well. This is wonderful news!! Thanks for sharing 🙂

If you have interstitial cystitis this is soooo helpful! I got this one day when my bladder was in so much pain I was crying and I didn’t know what to do. This helped to give me relief before I had even finished the yoga video!! Totally worth it! If it was double the price I would buy it knowing how much it helped me. I never realized how much yoga could help me with IC 🙂

    • Dustienne Miller (verified owner)

Yes Savannah! I am beyond thrilled to know this video has been helpful, especially during such a crazy time. Hope you keep feeling better!
